| I had a small bowel resection in 2008 due to blood clots in my mesenteric arteries. Due to scar tissue and adhesions from that surgery, I developed a bowel obstruction in December 2012. I was advised by a dietitian to avoid foods that are high in insolubl fiber. Since I have a sister with colon cancer, I was also advised to get plenty of fiber each day. After lots of confusion and frustration, I found the answer for both issues. Heather's Tummy Fiber has the soluble fiber that will help keep my colon healthy while also not causing issues with the bowel obstruction. | I am so grateful for this product and the book The First Year. Because I live alone I stopped making salads and cooking vegetables not realizing that V-8 juice was not the same. I thought I could no longer eat raw fruits and vegetables and this made my diarrhea worse. I have also had a colon resection due to colon cancer. I never knew there were two kinds of fiber and that soluble fiber was essential for me and neither did my doctors. | My mom has been in and out of the hospital with IBS type symptoms (ing nurse mentioned your product and how it had been helping her elderly mother, we ordered it right away. The results have been fantastic. She has occasional diarrhea but only because she eats too much chocolate and NOTHING like the problems before. We also started her on the Peppermint Oil capsules. She used to complained of pain in her stomach and we could not figure out why it hurt.. SInce she has been taking the capsules she no longer complains. She doesn't like peppermint in tea and such but no problem with the peppermint oil capsules. I recommend it to anyone I hear of having these types of problems. | I take a T. in juice or tea before every meal. I mix it up in a insulated mug when going places. My doctor also has me mixing a probiotic with it. This plus taking Pancreaze before each meal. I've suffered with IBS-D almost all my life alternating with IBS-C. Sometimes I've gone months and years with out an episode and then something would set me off. Usually fresh fruits and vegetables plus stress. Still have to be careful what I eat...not fresh fruits and vegetables, watch my fats, etc.....getting plenty of rest. Getting tired seems to be a factor. When I had my gallbladder out about 14 years ago my IBS has been harder to maintain. I had taken Metamucil for years, switched to Citrucil, before finding your product online. I've used your fiber, teas, and your book. Right now I'm doing better than I have in two years. I've only had two episodes this month. Not sure what caused them. Oh, yes. I have used the hypnosis cd (3 times)...I forget the name...Dr. Michael seems to ring a bell. | I am 65 yrs old and began diarrhea in late June and the condition continued without ceasing until early Oct. Gastroenterologists did all the test and I was told I had IBS. The only thing they gave me was immodium or pepto bismol. I lost 17 lbs, became anemic, my total proteins dropped normal, and I felt that I might die. I ordered the Acacia fiber and the diet book. Slowly my diarrhea stopped and I began to be able to eat food again. Before I was using my stored fat to supply energy for my body. I lost from 130 to 113 lbs. One NP told me that basically there was nothing wrong with me. At the end of my ordeal, they did do an IBD panel and some immune markers came back positive. It was them revealed to me, when my colonscopy was performed that I had an area of inflammatiom, but it did not fit the textbook picture. | I have not been diagnosed with IBS but started to have stomach issues when I did not eat a bland diet. I have had tests and so far nothing is wrong. It is very difficult however when you have to run to the ladies room a number of times during the day. I would say I have the symptoms of IBS-D. The first time I tried the fiber I took too much at once. I so wanted it to work. I then carefully took small amounts and gradually increased it to 1 tablespoon three times a day. It's great to be able to take a natural product and get away from the Imodium. I still have to watch my diet but have been able to add some more vegetables and a small amount of red meat into my diet. Thanks to all… Susan | |
