| A friend told me about Heather's book. Finding it on Amazon, I read her bio, visited the website, and bought the Starter Kit! Eager to stop help the awful pain in my gut,my hubby got me the Peppermint Pills from Mother's which have me the first relief I'd had in more months than I can count! Using the Kit ingredients as directed, I began to feel somewhat normal. However, I was missing information so ordered Heather's First Year With IBS,which equipped me the knowledge I'd lacked. I'm now feeling so well that my hubby and I will spend our 48th anniversary (tomorrow) out without my having to worry about what to eat! This week, armed with the info I've gained from both books and using the Tummy Tammer, Fennel, and Peppermint Tea, as wellas eating soluble fiber first as well as making those foods my go-to snack choices, I'll see my Gastroenteritis ready to ask for the tests that will eliminate all other options but IBS. Had I only been feeling better and not read both books, I wouldn't have known what to say or ask her to do. And having meet with her 4 months ago and discussed my horrid digestion, she did say anything. Now I know that if she does this again, I'll need to see another doctor! | It's been a long haul, with very slow progress. Finally, a doctor recommended that I get your Tummy Tamers and I saw my progress ascend immediately. When I was first diagnosed about 4 years ago, I was told there was nothing that can be done for this condition. I found the tapes you sell on my own, as well a diet similar to the one you explain on my own. I have one other thing that gives me peace of mind. I have a pouch of imodium cut into eighths that I keep in my bra!! When I feel the beginnings of rumblings, I put can always put 1/8 in my mouth and know I have bought time. | I have been taking Heather's Acacia Fiber since 2008 and I have to say that it gave me back my life. I suffer from IBS-D and had been homebound because of it for at least 15 years. If I ventured out, it was to a local store, and you know that I knew where every bathroom was. I even went as far as buying a small porta-potty to keep in car because my stomach was so unpredictable. I started taking 2 tsp of the fiber at night and within a week I noticed a big difference. I was able to go out and not worry about where a bathroom was. In fact, I went to a movie theater for the first time in a LONG time (yes, I sat right by the aisle close to the door just in case... but didn't need to!) I tell everyone I meet about this fiber and share my little travel packages with them so they can try. But, that has only been in the last six months when I add one half teaspoon into the room temp. water (it always is coming out of the cold tap in Florida ;-)that I put my dry oatmeal in then and microwave. | I find that I need to include some insoluble fiber along with the soluble. Soluble only doesn't work for me due to my particular issues. | |||||
| I have been using a generic Metamucil fiber supplement that includes 1g INsoluble fiber along with 2g of soluble fiber. I have issues regarding swallowing large volumes of water, which is required. I swallow too much air, and that is a problem. So I tried the Acacia Senegal because not as much water is needed to ingest it. I find that I need the insoluble fiber to help with motility issues as well as a product that softens (soluble.) Soluble alone does not work well. I eat a variety of fiber (foods) throughout each day and drink liquids as well. | |||||

| For emergencies, these are great. In all but the worst IBS-D flare ups I can use these to gain control back over my gut. For casual use, they work well too if you don't want to drink peppermint tea on a regular basis. | |

| I am not sure about this one. I took it as soon as I received it and at the same time I had a week of loose stool. So I stopped everything - took imodeum (sp?) and went two days without eating anything. That seemed to work until today. I was careful what I ate but it seem like the intestine builds up over days and then has a day of flush. This includes the gas and pain. I will try the caps again later when I know I can be home all day. | |||||

| I got food poisoning a few years ago and haven't been the same since. I've tried all sorts of fiber supplements/food and some worked while others made my symptoms worse. Recently diagnosed with SIBO and put on a low fodmap diet. It's helping to some extent. A Godsend has been Heather's IBS Diet Cheat Sheet. While I still have some issues with the soluble fibers on the list, definitely the insoluble and trigger foods I had real big problems. It's been an uphill battle, but the Tummy Fiber seems to be helping out. Definitely better than Metamucil. | |

| I read the book from cover to cover. The recipes look great but not sure if I am able to physically be in the kitchen for long. The diet and Tummy Fiber seems to be working, but I still have some gas issues. Maybe this will stop as I continue adding to the fiber and watching carefully what I eat. I have found some interesting subs for wheat and dairy products. Found some great rice crackers recently and other items. I love the soy milk and "silk" sub for yogurt. | |
