Hello Victoria - I'm so sorry you have received fennel seeds that have bugs. Thankfully, these little bugs are completely harmless albeit very disgusting I agree. Please discard the buggy fennel. We will send you a replacement.

Organic fennel is tricky because fennel is naturally very prone to getting bugs like this. Nonorganic fennel is treated with a lot of pesticides in the field to control this problem, but we cannot do that with organic fennel. So, we have to take steps after harvest to prevent the bug larvae coming in from the fields from ever hatching. Our method is to deep freeze the fennel for several days immediately after harvest and then continue to deep freeze the fennel after transport until we package it. This cannot prevent bug contamination in the fields in the first place, though - the farmers use ladybugs for that, which is why you sometimes see a ladybug in the finished product. And once in a while, despite all the efforts, organic fennel will still have some bug contamination that even the deep freeze does not entirely eradicate.

We care very much about our customers. We want to provide the best possible products with the greatest medicinal benefit to help manage and stabilize IBS. Sticking with organic fennel (even though it would clearly be much cheaper and easier to use nonorganic) is absolutely critical in our opinion. Our customers rely on fennel to manage their IBS symptoms and often drink several cups a day. Consuming this much nonorganic fennel would be a lot of unnecessary pesticide exposure and this is simply not acceptable to us. We continue to try and improve our options for organic fennel pest control, so we can continue to provide high-quality, super fresh, organic whole fennel seed for our Fennel Tummy Tea.

We will gladly replace the fennel you ordered and send that out to you today.

I'm so sorry to hear this. People tend to either love or hate the taste of fennel. It really does work well for gas and bloating though so many people just get creative about how to take it. You can brew it with another herbal tea such as peppermint or chamomile to disguise the flavor (peppermint in particular completely kills the fennel taste).

Using honey as a sweetener really makes it taste better as well. And some folks simply brew it very strong, let it cool, and drink it quickly as they would a medicine.

If you still just hate it so much you can't even drink it, please feel feel to return it for a full refund.

The fennel tea works great but I have to say I am not a big fan of the taste. However, it works great and the taste is tollerable enough to still use it knowing that it will give me relief from bloating and gas. Best product for gas that I know of.
I drink 2-3 cups of this tea a day, either using tea bags or if I'm feeling economical, the loose tea in a tea ball. It works wonderfully for gas which is one of my big problems. I drink it with or just after meals and it does the trick. It is very fresh and flavorful (much more so than any fennel tea I've bought elsewhere) and there is a lot of fennel seed packed into each tea bag (also more than other brands of fennel tea).

Soothing and Flavorful
I can always count on Fennel Tummy Tea to calm my stomach. I add a bit of honey and savor every flavorful sip of the tea. Not as effective in relieving my symptoms as I thought

I've only taken the tea for a few weeks. Consuming the product alone, I feel subtle relief, at best. The same can be said for over-the-counter product, Align; however, when taken together, they provide about 3 hrs of noticeable relief. This discomfort of IBS, by in large, continues to be a problem.

Hi Darrell - Sometimes it works best at first to almost overwhelm your gut with the fennel tea to get on top of the bloating and gas. I typically tell people to drink it all day long for at least the first few days. After that you can drop down to a reasonable amount and that should help keep the bloating under control. There is also full info and help for IBS bloating and gas here http://www.helpforibs.com/footer/bloating.asp that may give you some tips.

When you say discomfort, is this from bloating or do you think it is more of a spasms and cramping issue? If that is the case, the Peppermint Tummy Tea would be a better fit for you. Peppermint is best for pain and spasms and as a smooth muscle relaxant. Fennel is best for bloating and gas. You can also brew the two together right in the same cup if you wish.

You may also have better results trying the tea before, during, or after meals, as personal preferences really vary.

Taking a probiotic like Align is a good idea. It cannot hurt, and might well really help. Combining the probiotic with your tea or other treatments is just fine. It often takes a multi-prong approach to really help IBS.

I have been taking drugs for a rare disease and had stomach problems for the drugs. Instructed by Dr to take nexeum.Started taking acacia fiber daily and have two cups of tea mixed fennel and peperment nightly. It was January when I took my last Nexuem and my stomach is great now in April. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone with a stomach problem, constipation, etc.. or believe they are glutin intolerant should try this product.5 star all the way. Tea could have more flavor so I include a bueberry tea bag and a green tea bag in with my fennel tea bag three times a day. It really does help with the gas.
I'm finding quite a few other people around me that have IBS also and am amazed to find out how they are handing it. Some are changing diet alone and some take a pill for fiber, and some aren't doing anything but suffering because they don't know what to do. I've been telling them about Heather's Tea and have gotten two of them to look at the pamphlet you sent me, in hopes that they will want to try your products. I'm so sorry to hear this. People tend to either love or hate the taste of fennel. It really does work well for gas and bloating though so many people just get creative about how to take it. You can brew it with another herbal tea such as peppermint or chamomile to disguise the flavor (peppermint in particular completely kills the fennel taste).

Using honey as a sweetener really makes it taste better as well. And some folks simply brew it very strong, let it cool, and drink it quickly as they would a medicine.

If you still just hate it so much you can't even drink it, please feel feel to return it for a full refund.

Love this tea, drink it every day, all day long
I mix it with other teas to get some variety, just make sure it is decaf tea. I also add a peppermint capsule to my teapot and make a large pot of fennel-peppermint tea, as I find the peppermint easier to digest this way, its very strong but you get used to it and there is no burping up of peppermint all day! Overall I have found these products life changing, my pain is substantially reduced, I feel supported and educated and I am not lost in wondering what to eat or not. The only product I haven't used much is the tummy fiber, I need to incorporate it more in my daily routine. Thanks again Heather!

These tea bags don't smell the best but they actually aren't bad with a little sugar. I mostly use them when I start feeling stomach cramps, and they seem to help calm my stomach quickly. They have prevented IBS attacks for me at work, which is a lifesaver. I would recommend them.

Not sure if I noticed a difference yet
I've been drinking this tea for a few weeks but I can't tell if it's helping. I get bloated/gas incredibly easy. I started taking apple cider vinegar and I've definitely noticed that helping with the bloating moreso than the teas. I've been drinkin peppermint consistently for well over a month and taking the tummy fiber along with this tea. I'm glad I came across these products but I don't think I've gotten the results that many other people have.

It looks like your package was shipped on January 11 and then simply disappeared into the post office tracking system after that. We resent your order on March 6 as soon as we learned you hadn't received it, and tracking for the replacement shows delivery on March 8.

I unfortunately suffer from severe bloating & gas as symptoms of my IBS & fennel is the very best tea to ease my discomfort. Fennel Tea puts me to sleep!

This product needs a warning! One cup made me so sleepy and groggy and muddled I would not have been safe to drive! Could not even play solitaire! It may be good for the tummy, but tough on the brain!

Fennel Works for me.
I have had years of bloating and gas that interferes with my ability to breathe. I am not a tea guy but I like the taste of the Fennel tea and I have no bloating at all now. I am 75 years old. I found this site pretty late in life. But I can enjoy what is left of life for me now, breathing freely.
