IBS-D Improvements in Just 24 hours
I have tried many things to help ease my IBS-D with very limited positive results, until I stumbled on this Acacia Senegal. I was skeptical based on my experience with other products but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised if not shocked to experience some noticeable relief within the first day, taking just 1/2 teaspoon twice daily. Now a few weeks into using Acacia, my symptoms are much better and I can finally feel a bit more confident leaving the house without worrying. While I imagine results vary for each individual, for me, the relief is real and was very fast; and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons daily seems to be all I need. I will definitely continue using Acacia Senegal and am thankful that I learned about it. If you have IBS-D I strongly recommend giving this a try. For those concerned about some reviewers saying they have trouble getting the powder to fully dissolve, I have discovered (sort of by accident as I got distracted by the kids one morning after the first stir) that stirring in the powder the first time and then letting it sit for more like 10 minutes, the Acacia is completely dissolved. I give it a quick second stir after the 10 minutes and there is no sign of any powder or gel like some others have described. Try it!

Really seems to help
I have both constipation and diarrhea. Heathers peppermint caps helped so decided to switch my fiber caps for this acacia. Follow the Facebook group so started 1/4 tsp 2X daily and working up to 1/2 tsp 2X daily. It seems to be helping stabilize me.

Currently using this product.

Jury still out
I have been using Heather's Tummy Care for several weeks and I believe that it has been helping some but not to the degree I had hoped. I still have some issues on too many days. I'm not sure I'm taking the correct amount. Right now I'm at 4 tsp/day. May need to adjust. One thing I have noticed though is when I take it, it makes me have gas, lots of it. Is this normal? I ordered some of the fennel tea but have not received it yet. Hope this helps with the gas. I will continue using and adjusting the amount.

Finally something that is helping
I have IBS with constipation and found this product after being tired of laxatives and having a 10 day stent with no bowel movement. I was exhausted & ready to give up. I haven't had this product long enough to be completely adjusted yet but so far it has been the answer to my prayers. I'm slowly working up to the amount I need but am having BMs without taking a laxitive now. This fiber does not make me bloated like the OTC fibers. Those all made me miserable. I'm also using your peppermint oil pills which are helping with cramping. Thank you soooo much for these products. For once in a long time I have hope. This can be such a depressing problem.

required to use on/in ROOM TEMPATURE most drinks are either hot or cold room temp means having to wait till they cool off and than reheat, so far it hasn't helped me. Imodium has helped a little more than the powder.

use at room temp a pain in the neck but I do it, so far hasn't helped my diarrhea.

Hi Elsie - no worries! You don' have to add the tummy fiber to any liquid at all. Just sprinkle the dry powder right into any moist foods, of any temperature, with breakfast and dinner. Oatmeal, rice, casseroles, sauces, applesauce, anything with moisture. It will melt right in, that is a super easy way to use it. For resolving diarrhea, that is about the dosage and a process of gradually increasing to what your gut needs. Details:
There are two kinds of fiber, insoluble and soluble. Insoluble is a stimulant and can set off IBS symptoms, and if you have strictures it can cause intestinal blockages.

Soluble fiber won't do that - it can't. It's not a stimulant, it's a bowel motility regulator. It can't cause blockages, diarrhea, or constipation, but it also will not help you until you gradually work up to enough of it in your gut, 24/7, to regulate motility. In the meantime, everything else will keep impacting your gut and you will likely keep fluctuating day to day. The tummy fiber is 100% soluble fiber, it can't make anything worse, but it also will not help you with just the first dose or two, or first few days or two. For constipation, it likely won't help the first week or two either. This is because you are starting at a low dose that won't do anything at all, it is just to get your gut used to more fiber gradually. All fibers are indigestible, so you always want to increase fiber slowly and steadily,

Do not skip doses, do not jump your dose up and then down and then up and then down, do not skip days - none of this will work. This is a process, it can't be erratic, it takes some time and patience, and you have to follow the process consistently, day in and day out, or soluble fiber will not do what you want it to do.

You need to start with just ½ teaspoon twice daily and then gradually increase. Add an extra ½ teaspoon to just one of your doses, every 3-4 days. The Tummy/Fiber seemed to work at first for about 12 days. However, for the past two weeks, I have had several episodes of IBS-D even while taking the fiber as directed.

The pain that comes in unison with IBS attacks is something that no one should ever have to experience. Please keep gradually increasing your tummy fiber dose, as you need to work up to what your gut needs for normal motility day in and day out. For diarrhea that is likely a total 1-3 tablespoons per day total, but it will take at least a few weeks to work up to that.

Soluble fiber can't cause blockages, diarrhea, or constipation, but it also will not help you until you gradually work up to enough of it in your gut, 24/7, to regulate motility. In the meantime, everything else will keep impacting your gut and you will likely keep fluctuating day to day. Really seems to be working
I ordered this blindly hoping that it would actually help. It really is tasteless (not all powders that say they are really are) and dissolves easily. I take it combined with the fennel peppermint caps. I'm not sure if either would work without the other, but it doesn't really matter to me. I have had to have a feeding tube placed because I have severe weight loss from IBS issues. I am hoping eventually, I will be able to eat again and be a normal person, one not afraid to go out anywhere because something embarrassing might happen (again).

Best thing I ever purchased
This powder really works folks. Since beginning taking it I have not had any pain in my lower intestine. Everything is natural now. No strain, no pain. And it only took three days to start working. Start out with a tsp and gradually go up to a tad over one tbsp. Mix it with a fork and let it rest while you do something else. Then drink it down. It has no taste but I promise it works!

It's the only product that works. And even that isn't perfect!
I've used this product for several years. It helps. I also take other soluble fiber tablets each day & eat as much soluble fiber as possible but still have issues nearly every day. One thing about the product I dislike is that each can or container is different; in that, has a different consistency and sometimes is nearly impossible to stir and dissolve in liquid. It's very odd. The container I have now is great and dissolves perfectly. The last 2 I had were terrible.

There are two kinds of fiber, insoluble and soluble. Insoluble is a stimulant and can set off IBS symptoms, and if you have strictures it can cause intestinal blockages.

You need to start with just ½ teaspoon twice daily and then gradually increase. Add an extra ½ teaspoon to just one of your doses, every 3-4 days. So add an extra ½ teaspoon to your morning dose, wait 3-4 days and then add an extra ½ teaspoon to your evening dose, wait 3-4 days and then increase your morning dose again, etc. You'll keep following that pattern and gradually work up to the dose your gut needs for normal motility. A rough average final dose for diarrhea is 1-3 Tablespoons per day total, for alternating diarrhea/constipation probably 2-3 Tablespoons per day total, and constipation a likely 3-5 Tablespoons per day total. That shows you the huge dose range, and also how far you will likely have to increase from the starting dose of just ½ teaspoon twice a day.

The fiber cannot make anything worse, but again, until you gradually work up to enough of it in your gut, it won't help you either, because it has to reach the point where it can control your bowel motility. You just will not have enough of it in your gut to affect you at all until you have worked your way far enough into the process.

I will tell you candidly it will probably take you a few months to work up to the dose you would need to resolve chronic constipation, and in the meantime you'll still have symptoms, and you may need to use laxatives if you're already doing that. You should see improvements kick in as you gradually get your dose up around 3 tablespoons per day total, and then you'd keep gradually increasing until you feel stable day and day out. You can't just jump to this dose though - fiber does not work that way. I wish it did! But you have to gradually get your gut used to more fiber, and then reach the point you need for motility regulation. Once you hit that you stay at whatever that dose is, morning and evening, as soluble fiber literally only works when it is physically present in your gut.

Seems to have made a big difference.
I've been using this can of loose soluble fiber for about 3 weeks. Just about 1 teaspoon a day mixed in with yogurt or cereal. And I've stopped hurting and no longer have loose stools. This is coinciding with all home cooked meals, and more walking during stay at home pandemic times, which might also contribute to my gut settling down, but I think the daily soluble fiber and occasional fennel tea are really helping. I was miserable a month ago with gut pain and diarrhia.

Hi Lynn - I'm so sorry you just had an attack. I hope you are feeling better soon. The tummy fiber is not meant to stop an attack. It is a preventative, and you have to start at a low dose twice daily, gradually increase, and keep slowly increasing until you reach the point where you are stable, and not having attacks. The fiber only works when there is enough of it in your gut to gently force normal motility, and that will prevent attacks from happening.

If you are suddenly hit hard and need immediate help, that's when you need to go to the peppermint tummy tea (for pain, spasms, cramps, urgency) or the fennel tummy tea (for bloating and gas). The teas work very quickly to calm your gut and stop symptoms. The fiber is a daily process and you have to gradually work up to a high enough dose to actively keep your gut calm and prevent symptoms, it is not something you can just take as needed in the midst of an attack as it unfortunately won't work that way. It won't hurt at all, but it won't work the way you are wanting it to.

IT IS WORKING!
My IBS runs from severe diarrhea to constipation and I have despaired of being normal again. But this stuff is working. It is a slow process, building up to being able to take enough to alleviate symptoms, but I am up to a tablespoon a day and my constipation is sloooowly disappearing and I am comfortable again. I have had NO DIARRHEA since I began the regimen and NO CRAMPING! And I am back to successfully eating sourdough bread (my problem is not gluten even though I have been off it for 3+ years on the advice of my gastroenterologist). Even though initially the acacia and the increased soluable fiber bound me up even worse, I have been able to adjust my insoluble fiber intake to begin to return to normal.

6 weeks on and definitely noticing change for the better
I have been using this product now for 6 weeks, I started on a low dose ( 1/4 teaspoon ) twice a day and have increased to 1 teaspoon twice a day, it has definitely helped me with urgency and diarrhea, I feel like it has a calming effect on my bowel. Hi Rita - I'm so sorry to hear this. The fiber can't cause cramping or diarrhea, soluble fiber is only a motility regulator. But - you also have to have enough of it in your gut to work, and you have to get to that dose gradually. The normal ½ teaspoon twice daily starting dose won't do anything - it's just to get your gut used to more fiber. Then you gradually increase from there - adding an extra ½ tsp to one of your daily doses, every 3-4 days. Lower doses won't make things worse, but they also won't stop diarrhea or prevent other triggers from hitting your gut hard. An average daily dose for diarrhea typically ends up about 1-2 tablespoons per day. Please keep me posted!

Hi Mary - I am so sorry you are struggling. Did you start at ½ teaspoon twice daily? You want to stay there for 3-4 days, and then add an extra ½ tsp to just one of your doses. Wait 3-4 days and then increase your other dose by an extra ½ tsp. Follow that process, go slow and steady, and as you gradually get your fiber dose up it should resolve the frequent BMs. If you go too quickly that can cause gas, so that means drop your dose and go more gradually with increases. Slow and steady will win this race. Please keep us posted.

Hi Glenda - I'm so sorry you are having trouble. Please know that the Tummy Fiber cannot cause diarrhea (or constipation). It is just 100% soluble fiber, which is a bowel motility regulator. It does have to be used twice daily, and you have to start at a low dose and increase gradually. You continue to increase gradually until you reach the dose you need in your gut to keep motility stable. That may be several teaspoons to several tablespoons per day, total. But you can't start at the dose you'll end up needing to reach, you have to start low and increase gradually.

You may get or continue to have diarrhea until are able to get your fiber dose up to the level you need. It's not a drug, so it will not work overnight. You should see improvements as your dose increases, and then complete resolution of the diarrhea as you continue. Unfortunately, you can't rush the process.

Please do make sure that were using the fiber twice daily, and that you started at a low dose of just 1/2 teaspoon twice daily but gradually increased that every few days. For diarrhea you may have to gradually work up to 1-3 Tablespoons per day total, but if you resolve at a lower dose then just stay there. If you gradually worked up your dosage but just saw no improvements at all, please check in with your GI doc as that could be a red flag for something other than IBS. If this is the case please return the fiber for a full refund, open or not, no time limits at all. If you have dosage questions please just let me know.

I am having great results with the powder at just 1/2 tsp. daily so far. I have IBS -C. i used the powder years ago but was on drugs for the IBS that caused more constipation. I believe it didn't help because I was on the drugs the doctor was giving to me for the IBS symptoms. I am going up slowly as I am a very hypersensitve person. I am also getting great results being treated the last four years with Homeopathic remedies. I am going to school to become a homeopathic practitioner and plan to help others who have IBS. I was able to get off the pharmaceutical drugs because of homeopathic remedies. Hi Marianne - the Tummy Fiber will resolve IBS diarrhea and/or constipation, but you have to gradually reach the dose your gut requires for that. The Tummy Fiber is a pure soluble fiber, so it is a bowel regulator, which means it regulates bowel contractions and water content. It cannot turn diarrhea to constipation or vice versa. You will need to gradually get your twice daily dose up to the level your bowel needs for stability. That will be a lower end for diarrhea, a higher end for constipation, and if you normally alternate between d and c your dose range will likely end up in the middle.

If you are prone to diarrhea and that has not resolved, that means you need to continue to gradually increase your dose until there is enough soluble fiber in your gut to normalize motility. When you reach that dose, stay there for maintenance.

Hi Cheryl - hang in there, it's not uncommon for constipation to take a gradual increase to the higher end of the dose range (3-5 tablespoons per day, total) to resolve. Go slow and steady, you should see improvements along the way, and just keep gradually increasing your dose until the constipation has resolved. That is the dose where you'd then stay. After having felt so crappy for months, I ordered and started taking your Tummy Fiber and peppermint oil tablets. I have increased the fiber to 1 and 1/2 teaspoons, and also take 3 peppermint oil capsules a day, and I'm feeling much better. And lately, my diet hasn't even been that great, and I'm feeling pretty well.

Omg it's a miracle
This product and the peppermint caps are healing my 17 year old daughter. It's a miracle. She has been in so much pain for so long with her IBS she has lost weight because she eats and it hurts so she stops. She was 91 pounds and now she is 81 pounds. Wasting according to the nutritionist. She is 5" tall. Now, with the fiber and the peppermint cap first thing in the morning, she has ZERO pain and she can eat!! Works great for me and taste great too!
I eat enough fiber at breakfast & lunch so I only use the tummy fiber at dinner. I seem to only need 1 heaping teaspoon and I let it dissolve about 1/2 hour before taking just before eating. I also eat some more food with fiber with dinner.

Excellent product, performs as advertised, no taste or smell.
After reading The First Year, and Cure Constipation Now by Dr W Jones, I started Dr Jones's protocol using Citrucel and was very happy with my results. I wasn't happy with ingesting all that sugar so have switched over to acacia fiber without any adverse effects. I'm using 2 tsp 3 times per day and am very satisfied with my results. I will definitely reorder this product.

This product works
I don't have IBS. I use Heather's acacia fiber for constipation. I am 83 years old. I built up slowly to a little less than 3 Tbs per day. Because of type 2 diabetes, I have to eat a lot of constipating protein, similar to the Keto diet. I could not do without the fiber. It's a lifesaver!
